Basic Setup and Configuration

1. How do I wire the cameras?

The recommended method to wire the cameras is to connect the camera to the NVR using an Ethernet cable. Both NVR and Camera are equipped with PoE (Power Over Ethernet) module and the Ethernet cable can transfer both data and power to the camera. In this case, the power plug on the camera is not used

You may also connect the camera to a local area network (LAN) by adding the IP address of the camera in the NVR and specifiy the camera credentials. In such case please connect the camera to a PoE switch that will supply power to the camera. If you are connecting the camera to a router, then a 12 V DC (0.5-1 A) power adapter is required to connect to the power plug on the camera

2. What is the default username and password of NVR and IP camera?

The default username of NVR and IP camera is admin

There is not default password for both NVR and IP camera. Please leave the field blank for the first time you log into your system. We strongly recommend to change your default password for the NVR for security and privacy protection purpose.

3. What should I do if I forgot my password to the NVR or camera?

4. How do I connect my security system?

Follow the instrctions to connect all the wires of your system:

1. Connect the 60ft Ethernet cable to the camera and NVR

2. Connect the HDMI Calbe to a TV or Monitor

3. Connect the mouse to the USB port on the NVR

4. Connect a shorter Ethernet cable (not included) to a router. This will allow the NVR to connect to the Internet and to be viewed remotely from the mobile Apps. If you don not wish to connect the NVR online, you can skip this step and the NVR will still work as a standalone system.

5. Connect the power adater to the NVR

6. Connect the power adater to a wall outlet (100V~240V AC) and turn on the power swtich on the NVR

7. Wait for NVR to boot up and follow the on-screen wizard to complete initial set up

5. How do I initilize the configuation after I connect all the wires?

Please follow this instruction to initilize your NVR and camera connection

6. How do I add an IP camera to the NVR?

In the main screnn windown, click on the '+' icon at the center of the channel window to access 'IP Channel window'.

If all cameras are from Ensotronic and are connected directly to the NVR, click on 'Quick set' to have NVR configure all the cameras automatically

If there are any cameras that are not from Enstornic, or the cameras are connected to a LAN network, please select available channel and specify the camera's IP address, media port number, username and password.

Click on 'Apply' to save the setting

7. I didn’t realize the NVR didn’t come with a hard drive, what type of hard drive to I buy?

Ensotronic NVR takes 3.5 inch hard drive to record. The maxmize the performance and life-span of the NVR, we recommend to use a surveillace grade hard drive.

8. What’s the difference between 720p camera and 1080p?

720p cameras record at 1280x720 resoludtion while 1080p cameras record at 1920x1080 resolution. In such case a 1080p camera has 100% more effective pixels than 720p camera

8. How do I navigate in the NVR menu?

You may use the USB mouse to navigate in the NVR menu. Left click the mouse to select or enter an item. Right click the mouse to exit or cancel an item. To enter the main menu from the main screen, please right click the mouse.

9. How do I change my NVR password?

Please enter the main menu => Advanced => Account

Select the user and click on 'Modify Pwd' to change to passord to that user

10. How do I add a guest user?

Please enter the main menu => Advanced => Account

Click on 'Add User' and fill in username, initial password and available action then click on 'OK'

Recording and Playback

1. How do I set up recording schedule?

Please enter the main menu => Record => Record Conf. Set up the following parameters

Channel: Select the channel of camera to configure

Mode: Selct 'Schdule' to specify the recording schedule for different time and day. 'Regular' means NVR will record continiously. 'Detect' menas NVR will record only when motion is detected.

Select 'Manual' to force the NVR to record that channel contiously regardless of any schedule setting

2. How do set up modetion detection setting?

Please enter the main menu => Alarm => Motion Detection

Select the Channel number and check on 'Enable'

Click on 'Set' next to the Region setting to draw and specify the area you wish to trigger motion dection alarm. Left-click and drag the mouse to select or cancel an area. Click on Ok and repeat for all cameras

3. How do review the playback footages?

Please enter the main menu => Record => Playback

Select the date from the calendar and channel number (at the bottom right corner) and click on the search icon next to the channel number. Then click on the blue 'Play' button (at the bottom left corner) to start playback.

4. How to ensure my NVR will keep recording when the hard drive is full?

Please enter the main menu => System => General

Select 'Overwrite' under Storage Full setting

5. How do I adjust camera recording resolution and frame rate?

Please enter the main menu => System => Encode

Select the Channel number and adjust the reslution, frame rate and quality of that camera. The left column is main-stream encoding, which is used in recording and HD live view and playback mode. The right column is extra-stream, which is used in multi-window live view or SD live and playback mode.

6. How do I check my hard drive status?

Please enter the main menu => Advanced => Storage

Select available hard drive in the menu and click on 'Format Storage' to initialize the hard drive. If there is no available hard drive showing in the menu, please open the cover of the NVR and check the hard drive cable connection

Network Configuration

1. How to set up email notifications?

1. Enable email notification by accessing main menu => Alarm => Motion Detection. Select Channel number and Check on 'Enable'. Check on 'Send Email' and click on 'OK'

2. Ensure the NVR is online. Ensure NVR is connected to a router with an Ethernet cable. Go to main menu => System => Network and check on 'DHCP Enable'

2. Set up email account by accessing main menu => System => NetService => Email. Enable the setting and fill in all the information and save the setting.

2. Which ports should I forward for remote IP access?

Default http port is 80. Default server/ media port is 34567. Default RTSP port is 554

3. Do I have to port forward my NVR?

You will have to port forward your NVR only if you want to remote view your NVR directly from the internet while your network (or Firewall) does not our P2P service to stream the video. In most cases, if you have only on router in your network, you can use the P2P access by using the Device serial number. In such case, port forwarding is not needed.

1. Which App should I use for mobile viewing?

Please download and install the XMEYE App from the App store for easy remote viewing

3. How do I view my camera from my computer?

Please open Internet Explorer and go to . Select 'By device' and enter the username and password to log in to your NVR. You will be asked to download and intall a plugin to view the cameras correctly
